MAKING OF : SICILY101

SICILY101 is a movie i published all the way back last year, with the intention of releasing somethin g way more serious at the time and trying to (possibly) help some people in need, as many people are choosing suicide, which is just an unbelievable concept to me now. the movie itself revolves around SICILY, born 27th may, 2003 (she is 15 years old in the movie, which means this takes place in 2018..), after leaving her birthplac e of tajikistan and going on a horribly "tight" trip, due to the russian annexatio n of crimea in 2014, they reached kazakhstan, and her parents would work hard until she finally reached her dream home, italy. now her parents couldn t navigate through the country really well, as they were quite unprepared, which is why shortly, a few months later, they were killed in a car accident after they took sicily to an amusement park.

but thats how the story evolved overtime. lets look into the origins shall we?

ORIGINS

sicil y as a character originated from some mobile drawing practices of mine, in this specific practice, i decided to practice making some female characters for future (at the time) videos. these include some girl, sicily herself, and notably, bree fro m voidrejects

she used to have a way different color pallete, unfortunately no photos of those exist but i do have recreations. THESE ARE RECREATIONS, I HOPE YOU KNOW!

"alpha 1" sicily, her hair was green and a gradient for an unique effect so shes easily recognizabl e. was replaced, because i most likely wasnt satisfied with the result, at the time atleast. NOTE : HER EYELASHES ARE DIFFERENT IN THE SKETCH SURPRISINGLY, I DID THIS ON A RENDER FROM THE MOVIE. THIS WAS BEFORE I STARTED DOING MORE UNIQUE EYELASHES

"alpha 2" sicily, her hair is now purple, not pink since it kinda seems like it. was replace d because i also wasnt satisfied with it

"alpha 3" sicily, her hai r isnt a gradient for some reason, but her tank top is. her hair is black but her tank top is now the final color, orange

BETA DEVELOPMENT

"beta" sicily, looks almost like the sicily we know, however she has uniqu e eyelashes (1 point instead of 2 points which is most likely an accident), her neck bandages cover some of her right shoulder, the cut is noticably smaller and finally, her hair covers her face a bit.

this drawing was mad e in the summer of 2024.

the beta story of sicily was only slightly different from the final one. i sure as hell know it was incomplete, but there was some lead up regardless

she was supposed to enter the classroom, being the new girl in class, getting mocked for her appearance. first week of highschool to be oddly specific. however she'd be in a muc h worse state as she'd be under anesthesia and out of her mind. sicily also didnt seem to be anxious, rather vengeful, mentally ill and stone faced. for comparison, the final product is someone insecure, grieving, also mentally ill but actually showing it, and actually begging for companionship, desperate for help. also her teacher was gonna be shown making her sit somewhere, which is nice, but unfortunately, we dont see the staff of school in SICILY101 at all. she was (unsurprisingly) suicidal

SICILYS RETURN MONTHS LATER

the concept would be talked about again during october, as i got to work. the first episode of voidrejects was done but the next animation was go nna have to be made. introducing.. SICILY101!

it was the next movie on my schedule, now we're not in the final stage yet, as i left out some things ill tell you right now!

the number "101" was mostly a random number, however i wanted it to be a so-called "number of suicide". the number would be visible a lot in the movie and i completely left that out, mainly because this popped in my head during a night walk out in the cruel cold streets with my dog

the paper drawing s were supposed to be rather specific, aiming for a cute style, as sicily was obviously (somehow, someway) innocent so she would draw stuff like that. dacylinder17 (cylin union) was going to make the paper drawing segments but was kicked out of the project, due to the reasons of : invasion of privacy, harassment towards fruitpummel (now BrandonVictor), threatening the existence of the channel

there was also an EXTREMELY short second of a star shaped figure.. ill let you figure out what that means in its own time! ; )

currently, the world of sicily is still changing but those changes are public. no one knew about the harsh development of the mo vie, really. however i still consider it a favourite of mine..
